The Z-Production cross section [1] in proton proton collisions at 14 TeV will be one of the first measurements done at LHC. It is one of the benchmark processes to understand the CMS detector performance. It is an important background channel for Higgs searches. A detailed understanding of this process would allow a determination of the LHC luminosity.
